Abstract Preparation Guidelines
a. Enter your abstract in the EasyChair template & save a copy for yourself. You can go back and edit your abstract. b. The body of your abstract (including any tables, graphs or images) should not exceed 300 words in length. If your abstract contains tables, graphs or images, you may want to attach a PDF file. Make sure your images, if any, are of high enough resolution to be clear for the reviewers. c. Use the Keywords field to highlight the topic that is most relevant to your abstract (AI/ML, Human factors, Standards, etc.); category of work (application, research, cross-functional, etc.); or field (cardiology, sterilization, analytics, etc.) d. Scoring Guidelines: i. CLARITY - The abstract is written in a clear, concise, and easily understandable manner. It contains minimal to no errors in spelling, grammar, or formatting. The content is structured logically, with a clear flow of ideas, allowing the reader to grasp the key points without difficulty ii. RELEVANCE - The work presented in the abstract is directly applicable to the field of medical device risk management. It effectively highlights the context of the work and articulates a specific risk management problem, question, or challenge. The relevance to current industry standards, such as ISO 14971, and its applicability to real-world issues are well-defined. iii. APPEAL - The abstract has broad or specialized appeal to conference attendees, addressing either a widely recognized issue in the field or a specific, challenging aspect of risk management. The content provides value by either advancing theoretical knowledge or offering practical insights into the practice of risk management, particularly in areas where current solutions may be lacking. Additionally, the abstract signals an engaging presentation that will capture the audience's interest and foster meaningful discussion. iv. ORIGINALITY/INNOVATION - The abstract presents fresh ideas, innovative approaches, or novel solutions that contribute to overcoming challenges in risk management. If the work is not groundbreaking, it offers unique applications of established techniques, demonstrating their efficacy through case studies or empirical evidence. The presentation of lessons learned is insightful and beneficial to the audience. e. All authors must accept the terms and conditions of abstract submissions. f. A high score will increase the chances of an abstract being accepted but is not the only consideration. Abstract selection will be based on a number of factors such as: the score within each category, the number of submissions on a given topic, and needs of the program.
